Global Education Student Assessment Tools Inventory
Throughout my experience with the TGC program, we learned about several different Global Education Student Assessment tools. The tool that I find most useful and relevant for Mott Haven is the Oxfam Education for Global Citizenship: A Guide for Schools. I chose this guide because it focuses on social justice and equity, while emphasizing tolerance, sustainable development, peace, and carries the optimism that people can make a difference. I feel this approach is particularly empowering for my students and an effective approach to reaching them.
Additional Resources:
The Asia Society Global Competencies Checklist
Another great tool for educators to use to self- assess their global competencies in the classroom.
Duke Global Assessment Tool
This Global Awareness Rubric is very detailed yet also user-friendly and to the point.
The American Forum for Global Education
This Global Education Checklist is very thorough and covers many aspects of school culture in addition to curriculum. This resource would also be helpful for school committees and administrators.
